This is a true ski in and ski out condo experience. For skiers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to leave their car parked in covered parking and go skiing, hiking, biking w/no hassle, this is the place for you. No more fighting crowds! Our place was gutted 4 years ago and all finishes are brand new with a distinct mountain/alpine flavor. This condo was reconstructed by Sierra Design Center; so this is in essence is a "designer condo" down to the coordinating window treatments and Ralph Lauren bedspreads. Everything matches and is professionally upgraded and designed; new carpet/paint/bed room furniture/living room furniture. There are also museum quality pictures painstakingly acquired throughout 30 yrs. and memorable antiques. We have a toy chest full of toys, kid friendly, bunk beds, and dvd's/movies on site. This condo is on the top floor and is an end unit so it's very quiet w/ extra windows for sunlight. We have independent heaters in each room. The unit also has 2 full baths, and granite counters. The kitchen, is fully stocked (spices, oils, tea/coffee) , and dining table with 6 chairs; two people could sit at the kitchen bar stools. There is a big comfy designer couch 2 comfy chairs & a rocker on the balcony in the summer.
The deck which is located off the living room boasts a view of the Sherwin Mountains. Enjoy the view and BBQ a great meal or watch the snow fall in the comfort of your own place. You can get the "real" weather of Mammoth Mountain since you are ski in and out and know what the conditions are like on the mountain in your pajamas!! Yes, we are that close. You can see the pool, Jacuzzi, sauna area, and the Sherwin Mountain tops from the balcony while barbecuing; we are the end unit closest to the clubhouse. There are many trees on the property so like a forest; you are protected from the strong winter winds but still get a nice summer breeze. Since Mammoth is only 2 square miles, you will really feel like this is a perfect vacation getaway since it nestles against the mountains but you are a 2 minute drive from fine dining and shopping as well as a 1 mile walk if you are up for some exercise.
Mammoth Ski and Racquet is nestled next to the Canyon Lodge Ski Resort; Canyon Lodge is an extremely kid friendly ski- lodge, gentle green/blue ski slopes, awesome ski instructors, bands, events such as the Easter Egg hunt, great cafeteria (try the morning breakfast burritos) . You can also walk 5 minutes to the "gondie" and catch a tram ride downtown for some apres ski appetizers and a nice beer in the village. Lake Mary is 5 minutes away for boating, fishing, hiking and enjoying the beauty of the Sierras. A Fisherman's paradise!
My wife and I love the mountains. We are a skiing family and I have been a skier for 30 years. I am a construction engineer in Newport Beach, CA and my wife is a University Professor. We always wanted a place at Mammoth and we finally found the perfect place for us; we bought this place from a real estate lawyer who owned it for 30 years and kept it in tip top condition until he gutted it out a few years back and put top of the line finishes. He had some wonderful stories of his pride of ownership such as taking special order woods for all doors, and just as trivia, pulling apart wood from a farm in New York, to frame his pictures. We take great pride in ownership and maintain a nice, clean comfortable place for our guests. If you give us a try, I bet you would want to come back; and if you do, we will give you a discount.
